 One more day until Halloween. i’m very excited. Today in class we presented our cultural poems. It was really interesting hearing my classmates poems and ideas. i found it really inspiring and interesting. it’s always cool to learn something new from my classmates. I think everyone did an amazing job and overall i really liked the project. 

 Today in class we read another poem by Carlos Williams and talked about the importance of simple things. We had to list 4 simple object that have more meaning for us and i chose shoes as one of mines because it gets me through the whole day. Overall i liked what we did in class and i’ve been having a good day. 

today in class we wrote words that offended us. i honestly don’t have any words that offend me but it really just depends on who says it and how they say it. in that case i think any word could get me mad. but i would most likely let it slide. We then annotated the poem. i found it really interesting and liked the poem. we worked on continuing the poem using one of the words that offend us. My day has been going pretty good.   

 Today in class we went over another poem by langston hughes, The Negro that speaks of Rivers. it was so cool how we got to look at Mr. Rease’s family tree. it was actually really really cool and it was so interesting. we annotated the poem and it made me use my critical thinking on some of the lines. overall i really liked the poem and the meanings behind it. 

 Today we only had 30 minutes or so in class and we played a really fun kahoot in class. There was a lot of new things I learned and stuff I already knew. I dont really watch news or pay attention to it so after the kahoot I learned a couple of new things. 

 Today in class we worked on our cultural poem in class and learned how to make a digital poster. I started my first paragraph for my poem and I think it will turn out good. Im a bit excited to write about the cultural background and design the digital poster. My day has been good so far. Im excited for pajama day tomorrow.

 Today in class we read the poem by Langston Hughes, "Mother to Son". we annoyed it while reading and it really helped me understand the poem when we went over it as a class together. It was very inspiring and we shared some advice our Mom has gave us. Overall I thought it was really interesting and cool to learn about. My day has been going pretty good. I miss fall break and going to have to get used to school again. 

 

 Today in class we took a test on the book Fences. it was kind of easy but not really. I scored an 89 I think which im kind of proud of. I will definitely read the book again and still need to watch the movie/ My day so far has been good and it felt weird having block day odd periods on thursday.

 Today in class we continued to work on our Fences project. I decided I was going to do the trashcan powerpoint and my character will be Troy. I have lots of ideas for that and cant wait to present them as I think all of the things that will be found in the trash will relate a lot to Troy. So far my day has been pretty good. ive been really tired but hopefully I get my boost of energy later today

 Today in class we finally finished the book Fences and it was so interesting and shocking because everyone is at Troy’s funeral and it was really unexpected and the events that happened during the last scene was really good. i really like this book/play, i give it a 9.5/10 and i really want to watch the movie version. After, we discussed the ending and our thoughts. 

 Today in class we saw a couple of clips of the film Fences and I thought it was really interesting and it makes me want to watch the entire thing. After, we read some pages of the book and today I played the role of Lyons. I was very intrigued with the fight scene and wanted to know what happened next. 

 Today in class we presented our poster paper of characterizing characters from the story, Fences, using STEAL. My group presented 2nd and after we finished reading the rest of the book. I though it was really interesting and compelling. After we had to look at scenarios and make a decision and explain why we made the decision. 

 Today is the first day of October, im very excited for Halloween and the October vibe. Today in class we continued our poster boards and worked with our groups to put the final finishing touches. We didn't get the drawing done but we got most of the rest finished and ready to present. My day has been pretty good, ive been really tired but still pushing through.
