Prompt: Describe a time when you had to speak in front of an audience. What were your fears? How did you handle them? What advice would you give to someone struggling with stage fright?

Prompt Response: During a performance with my Mexican dance group, I had to say a verse before we started. I was scared I’d mess up or forget the words, but I took deep breaths and just went for it. Once I started talking, I felt better and got through it fine. If you're nervous about speaking in front of people, just practice a lot, take deep breaths, and remember no one wants you to fail.

Summary: Today in class we took notes about formal and informal language. Formal language is more professional and proper, like what you’d use in essays or when talking to teachers. Informal language is more casual, like how you talk to friends or text people. Knowing when to use each one is important because it helps you sound right for different situations.

Reflection: Today was my first varsity practice, I felt like I did okay and need some improvements. I was getting along with a few of the players and honestly had fun. It was tiring but a good experience.
